A Symphony Opportunity for you ... Adopt-a-Musician!
The Southern Tier Symphony is proud to announce our newest support campaign!
While this is a campaign that many symphonies undertake, we feel that it is a special one for the Southern Tier Symphony because of the close ties the community already has to its orchestra. When you adopt a symphony musician, you will get to know someone within the orchestra, and build a deeper sense of connection with the symphony as a whole.
It is also one of the ways we can acknowledge the investment of time and talent that these musicians have made throughout their lifetimes to develop the skills and mastery of their instruments necessary to be a musician in our orchestra.  There are two options to consider:

  • Adopt specific musician you already know who plays in the orchestra.  This adoption format will honor the time and talent devoted by someone you know and appreciate.
  • Adopt a ‘chair’ in a section (strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, section principal, Conductor, Concertmaster) or a special instrument (harp, piano, tympani). This adoption will apply to a position that may have different musicians at different concerts.  Our symphony draws from a large pool of musicians in a wide geographic region, so you will get the opportunity to meet multiple musicians!

Either option may be chosen for one of these reasons (or one special to you that we have not considered!):

  • Holiday gift to a music lover
  • Honoring a loved one
  • Memorial to a loved one
  • Holiday gift to yourself and/or your family
  • Gift to an aspiring young musician you know

Whichever option you choose will carry the same benefits to you, our donor:

  • ‘Meet and Greet’ your musician
  • Option to attend a concert rehearsal (times/locations vary)
  • Acknowledgement in our program as part of our extended  ‘Musician Support Team’

We have musicians available for adoption at these levels of giving:

  • Section musicians: $100
  • Special instruments: $200
  • Principal and assistant principal musicians: $200
  • Assistant Concertmaster: $300
  • Concertmaster: $500
  • Conductor: $1,000

We are excited to offer the opportunity of adopting a musician for this season! By sponsoring a musician, you enable the symphony to continue to serve our mission of enriching the cultural life of our region, while remaining an affordable, invested source of community performance and outreach.   Questions, please contact us at: or 716-378-0560
